About The Technology
Why use electronic ID?
TROVAN technology is designed to work where conventional ID methods will not work.
TROVAN technology features:
- Non-contact identification of objects
- Reliable operation in harsh environments (wet, dusty, dirty conditions; in high-impact applications)
- Freedom from line-of-sight constraints
- Read speed
- Enhanced security
- Unequalled performance in or on metals
Manual data recording methods (paper and clipboards) entail a significant number of man-hours and back-office paperwork. Also, manual data recording methods and keyboard data entry are subject to clerical errors.
Bar code has many limitations related to the tag size, reading distance, scan angle, tag orientation and usefulness in environmentally adverse conditions.
TROVAN transponders can be very tiny: a fraction of the size of a single bar in a bar code symbol and can be read at distances of over 1M.
TROVAN technology is not subject to line-of-sight limitations. In fact, TROVAN transponders can be read irrespective of their orientation to the reader. They can be read through grease, dirt, dust, multiple layers of paint, even wood and concrete. TROVAN transponders can be read submerged in liquids and can be used in all weathers. They can be moulded into items and completely hidden in items, since they can be read through most materials. Trovan transponders can be read flush mounted in or on metals.
The TROVAN UNIQUE system also provides an unmatched level of data security: once the code is programmed at the time of the transponders manufacture, it cannot be duplicated or tampered with. A unique and positive identification is guaranteed. |
